Tindall Aquaculture is a grower of marine ornamentals for the wholesale aquarium trade. We are looking for a self motivated employee that is willing to work with likeminded people to expand personal experiences and the business.


Marine Production Technician - Full or Part Time (min. 24 hrs)

Under general supervision---

  • Daily operation of coral hatchery facilities including tank and filter maintenance; food preparation; tank testing.
  • Maintains facility sanitation, including filter upkeep, tank cleaning, siphoning and water systems management.
  • Assists in the husbandry and daily care of live feeds, as needed (microalgae and rotifers).
  • Assists in pest discovery, removal and eradication.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate record keeping (inventory, feeding, disease, etc). Monitors and records data on water quality, coral production and broodstock care.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate inventory numbers. Maintains recirculating systems and completes all daily and weekly husbandry tasks.
  • Prepares and packs/unpacks all livestock as needed.
  • Aids in maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in coral propagation.
  • Assists in construction of systems, tanks and equipment used in aquaculture operations if needed.
  • Job involves frequent walking on unleveled surfaces, bending, stooping, ducking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Very infrequent sitting. Work is performed in an external environment 99% of the time. This may include unairconditioned greenhouse type structures. The worker is in adverse environmental conditions up to 99% of the time including heat, rain, and cold, in water or in tanks. Worker may be required to wear PPE as part of job duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent and three years applicable experience. Applicable college or vocational education may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.
  2. Experience or education related to working in marine environment with pumps, plumbing, tanks, and water systems
  3. PVC plumbing skills and a basic understanding of recirculating technology preferred.
  4. Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
  5. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  6. May be required to have a valid Florida Drivers license with acceptable driving record.
